Our Story

Inspired by a Simple Moment
Yoshi (satoshi Ikeda)Founder & CEO
Born and raised in Tokyo, Yoshi has built his career across industries including finance, advertising, video, and sports.
While exploring ideas for his next venture, a quiet memory surfaced: sitting in his grandmother’s home, sharing simple moments over Japanese rice crackers.
In that warmth, he realized something important—snacks can be more than just snacks.

They can carry memories, culture, and connection.
That realization sparked the idea for TokyoBites—a way to share the deeper meaning and charm of Japanese snack culture with the world.
More than just a business, TokyoBites is a cultural project—created to celebrate the spirit of Japan’s snack traditions, from nostalgic dagashi shops to modern expressions of creativity.

Outside the office, Yoshi enjoys Tokyo’s unique balance of city life and nature. He spends his time picnicking with his family and running marathons and trail races in the western mountains.
One of his dreams?
To cross finish lines around the world—with the TokyoBites logo on his back, fueled by Japanese snacks, and driven by the spirit of playful challenge.

Our Mission
TokyoBites was born from a simple wish—to share Japan’s beloved snack culture with the world.
In Japan, kids used to flock to local candy shops after school, clutching a few coins and carefully picking out their favorite treats. Some snacks even came with hidden prizes—and when you got a winner, you’d celebrate like you’d just struck gold. It wasn’t just about the sweets—it was about joy, connection, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.

Today, traditional dagashi shops are slowly disappearing. But the spirit they embodied—the laughter, the excitement, the playful sense of wonder—still lives on.
With TokyoBites, we aim to capture and share that spirit.
Each box is a taste of nostalgia, discovery, and cultural charm.
Japan is full of delightful, surprising snacks that many around the world have never seen or tasted. Through each delivery, we hope to spark curiosity, smiles, and that warm feeling of something special.

About the Design
We didn’t just want to deliver snacks—we wanted to deliver an experience. That’s why we put great care into the design of the box itself.
Rather than aiming for something simply cute or fun, each box is crafted to evoke a subtle sense of nostalgia—something warm, familiar, and deeply rooted in Japanese culture.

The design draws inspiration from 1980s Japan and the City Pop era—a dreamy, retro aesthetic that’s both playful and uniquely Tokyo.
Even if you’ve never lived through that time, we hope the look and feel spark curiosity and joy. Each box is meant to be more than just packaging.
It’s a keepsake, a mood, and a piece of cultural storytelling you can hold in your hands.
